PINE ISLAND - Vince Fangman grew up with four brothers and four sisters on a dairy and hog farm in Elma, Iowa. He attended Rochester State Junior College (now RCTC) in 1968 (the first year RSJC moved to its current location). He obtained an AA Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Meeting his wife Sally (from Plainview) seemed to put farming on the back burner. Vince and Sally were married in 1972. He worked at McGhie & Betts Inc. in Rochester from 1970 to 1980 as a crew chief and in the later years worked in the office processing field work and assisting the principal land surveyor with research, bidding, and managing survey crews.

GOODHUE - Playoffs are about a month away, but Friday's HVL Blue Division game had a playoff atmosphere with a full gym in Goodhue watching two of the better teams in the girls Blue Division tangle for first place. RED WING - Commissioner Richard Samuelson concluded a 15-minute Goodhue County Board of Commissioners meeting on January 17, and jokingly claimed credit for dispatching the business so quickly.
