ZUMBROTA - On February 2 the Zumbrota City Council said they do not have the funds to pay their share for a new firetruck for the Zumbrota Fire Department. The Fire Board, which consists of representatives of the City of Zumbrota and the townships of Minneola, Pine Island, Roscoe, Zumbrota, and Belle Creek, held a vote on January 25 to replace a 27-year-old pumper truck. The vote passed 5-1 with the City of Zumbrota voting against.

RED WING - Commissioner Richard Samuelson concluded a 15-minute Goodhue County Board of Commissioners meeting on January 17, and jokingly claimed credit for dispatching the business so quickly.
